We believe that Kindergarten is the stage where the foundation for a child’s future is laid and hence take the utmost care to make this foundation strong and sturdy. A perfect ambiance for learning is created where each classroom is equipped with Smart boards, multimedia content and audio-visual teaching aids.
A “Continual Informal Evaluation” system is followed which evaluates students based on classwork, theme-based worksheets and observation session. An assessment report highlighting the various aspects of the child’s development is submitted to the parents biannually.

Primary & Secondary

Admission to the following classes increases by a year accordingly. The school timing for the Primary & Secondary section is from Tuesday to Saturday is 9:30 to 4:30. On Sunday 8:15 to 11:45.

Evaluation & Assessment

Shree Basaveshwara Public School has made significant strides in academics.
The school follows a Grading System based on the NEP pattern as prescribed by CBSE, starting from Nursery class onwards. The assessment includes four Periodic Tests (PTs) and two Terminal Examinations (TEs).

The overall score of a student is calculated by taking 40% of marks from PTs (i.e., 10% from each PT) and 60% of marks from TEs (i.e., 30% from each TE).

To be promoted to the next class, a student must score a minimum of 40% marks in the annual score of each subject (out of 100 marks).

The result declared at the end of the academic session is final and binding.

In addition to academic performance, we also consider attendance, daily academic engagement, and participation in co-curricular activities. These aspects are evaluated using a 5.0 grading system to ensure holistic development.

Academic Environment

TESTS

  • Four Periodic Tests (PTs) for every subject will be held as per the schedule. These PTs form an integral part of the CCE policy of CBSE. In case the date given for a particular PT is declared a holiday owing to some unforeseen reasons, the test would be held on the next working day.
  • If a child misses one PT, then he/she is considered for merit after reducing 20% marks by late PTs. In case of absenteeism in more than one unit test, the child will be awarded zeros and not considered for merit.
  • Medical leave: The child will be considered for merit after awarding him/her a zero for medical leave. If he/she fails to qualify for merit, then average marks will be given and the result will be calculated accordingly.

Examination

Besides PTs spread throughout the session, two full-fledged examinations termed as Term I & Term II will be conducted in the school during the of September and March respectively.

On the day of examination prior to the child leaves his/her home for school, parents must ensure that:

  • The writing pad carried by their wards is absolutely clean with no scribbling of any kind on it.
  • No calculator is allowed in exam.
  • No old question papers are kept in pockets or pencil boxes.
  • No scales are carried, which have certain mathematical formulae written on them.

Note: If a student is caught using unfair means or violating any of the above mentioned rules, the articles would be confiscated and the student would be debarred from answering his/her paper. No excuse of any kind will be entertained thereafter.
